What is Serpentine?

Serpentine is the name given to the resistances that are indispensable for heating and cooling systems and have a place in many fields in the industry. It is used to heat or cool the liquid or gaseous substance passing through it at the desired level.

As in other similar fields, serpentine manufacturing is a work that requires expertise and requires a professional team in its production. In addition to the production of heater groups in 1-2 rows in heating systems, there are serpentines produced in 2-4 or 6 rows in cooling groups. Cooling groups are actively used in ventilation plants. In addition, serpentine technologies are used in induction air conditioning and individual air conditioning studies, which are widely used in ventilation plants.

Serpentine Selection and Calculation

The most important point in choosing the coil is to determine whether it will be used in the heating system or the cooling system. Serpentine systems, which are mostly used for heating purposes, include heavy metals such as stainless steel pipes and SRM steel pipes, as well as copper and bafon pipes. The most widely used product is 21.3 x 2.7 SRM steel pipes. These pipes have a special place in the production of steam coils. It has been determined that the products whose manufacturing and maintenance processes have been tested, generally operate under 16 bar pressure for 2 to 3 years without any problems.

In systems where liquids such as steam, hot oil or hot water are used, SRM steel pipes are generally more advantageous for the investment costs of the enterprises. In addition, serpentine systems made of SRM steel pipe can operate with full performance even in the best conditions for 4-5 years.

Stainless steel serpentine pipes are used in systems with a longer life expectancy. Although it has higher values in terms of operating investment costs, it provides an advantage to the enterprise in terms of usage costs thanks to its longevity.

Spiral finned, self-finned and flake-arranging serpentine types are systems that expand the heat flow according to the area of use, and they are the products that are produced in the most efficient way with the most affordable cost.
